TIFFANY YELLOW DIAMOND
128.54 carat yellow modified antique cushion brilliant cut diamond
discovered 1878, cut by George Frederick Kunz
Discovered in 1877 at South Africa’s Kimberley mine, the Tiffany Yellow has a stunning, richly saturated hue not seen in many yellow diamonds. It was a magnificent 287.42 carats when discovered, but was later transformed into a 128.51 carat cushion cut with 82 facets, which gives the diamond a timeless, antiquated look that maximizes the depth of its color. The acquisition of this diamond was only surpassed by Tiffany & Co.’s shocking purchase of the French Crown Jewels in 1887.
